St Just was a major producer of mined copper and tin. The origins of the mines and addits are thought to have started in around 1741, Geevor Tin Mine in Pendeen thriving until its closure in 1990.
1.25 miles off Land’s End, James Nicholas Douglass constructed the Longships Lighthouse in 1795. Today it makes for some remarkable scenery.
Close by is Cape Cornwall with it’s spectacular scenery, it boasts a 138 year old min chimney stack. Rising to a height of 229 feet above sea level it has views over the Western Approaches.
With its many stone circles and stones, St Just is steeped in history.
Land’s End airport offers flights to the Isles of Scilly and scenic flights.
